My tattoo looks lighter than when i got it done, will it brighten up?

I got a tattoo done last week in a bright blue and black on my right calf, i have used nappy cream (Bepanthen) like i was told to by my artist, it has started too scab and the scab is starting flake off. But the colour i am saying is miles lighter than the colour he used. will this brighten once it has healed?
